# ShotScreen Support
## Getting Started
Thank you for using ShotScreen! This page provides support information and frequently asked questions.

## Frequently Asked Questions
### How do I grant Screen Recording permission?
1. Open **System Settings** (or System Preferences on older macOS)
2. Go to **Privacy & Security****Screen Recording**
3. Enable the checkbox next to **ShotScreen**
4. Restart ShotScreen if needed
### How do I change keyboard shortcuts?
1. Click the ShotScreen icon in the menu bar
2. Select **Settings** (or press ⌘,)
3. Go to the **Shortcuts** section
4. Click on any shortcut to modify it
### Where are my screenshots saved?
By default, screenshots are saved to your **Downloads** folder. You can change this in Settings → General → Save Location.
### How does Scroll Capture work?
1. Press your scroll capture shortcut (default: ⌘⇧S)
2. Select the area you want to capture
3. The app will automatically scroll and stitch the images together
4. Click "Done" when finished
### How do I use the Stash feature?
The Stash is a temporary storage for screenshots and images:
- Drag any image to the Stash window to add it
- Drag from Stash to any application to use it
- Right-click for more options
### How do I remove backgrounds from images?
1. Take a screenshot or add an image to Stash
2. Drag the thumbnail to reveal the action grid
3. Drop on "Remove Background"
4. The app will process the image automatically
### The app doesn't start on login
1. Open Settings
2. Enable "Launch at Login"
3. Or add ShotScreen to System Settings → General → Login Items
### How do I extract text from screenshots?
1. Take a screenshot of text
2. Drag the thumbnail to show the action grid
3. Drop on "Extract Text" (OCR)
4. The text will be copied to your clipboard
## System Requirements
- macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or later
- Screen Recording permission required
## Privacy Policy
ShotScreen respects your privacy:
- All screenshots are processed locally on your device
- No data is sent to external servers
- No analytics or tracking
- No personal information is collected
## License
If you purchased ShotScreen, your license key was sent to your email. To activate:
1. Open Settings
2. Click "Enter License"
3. Paste your license key
## Troubleshooting
### ShotScreen is not capturing anything
- Ensure Screen Recording permission is granted
- Restart the app
- Check if shortcuts conflict with other apps
### Thumbnail doesn't appear
- Check Settings → Thumbnail → "Show thumbnail after capture" is enabled
- Verify thumbnail display duration settings
### Keyboard shortcuts don't work
- Check for conflicts with other applications
- Ensure ShotScreen is running (check menu bar)
- Try resetting shortcuts in Settings
