Frequently Asked Questions
Why does a photo show no recipe?
The recipe is read from the camera's maker notes. Photos that were edited, exported or re-saved by another app often lose them. On iPhone, import the original file (Photos picker or Files) instead of a screenshot or a shared copy.
How do I get my photos from the Mac onto my iPhone (and back)?
Both apps sync through your private iCloud (same Apple ID on both devices):
- Mac → iPhone: turn on sync for a folder in the Mac library. Its photos appear on the iPhone with a small preview, the recipe and the location.
- iPhone → Mac: photos in My Photos appear on the Mac under iPhone.
- Originals: use Send to iPhone / Send to Mac or Get Original. The full file arrives in Van iPhone on the Mac or with the From Mac label on the iPhone.
How does the location track work?
With Always location access the iPhone keeps a private track of where you were. The Mac uses it to add a location to photos that have none, with Undo. You can pause the track, choose how long it is kept and delete it in Settings. The track stays in your private iCloud; we never see it.
Do I need an account?
No. Browsing and saving recipes work without one. A Fuji Recipe Viewer account (Sign in with Apple or Google) is only needed to upload and like recipes. You can delete the account in Settings → Account; this deletes your uploads too.
